1. Micro USB Charging

If your laptop is connected with high-voltage devices such as printer, scanners, or large external hard drives, you will need a USB-C hub with external power. In this case, look for Micro USB charging port in a USB hub. The Micro USB port draws power from power adapter directly. It can give every device connected to it the maximum voltage; therefore, to support stable performance of the high-voltage devices.

2. 100W USB-C PD Power

For Ultrabook with only 1 USB-C port, connecting USB-C hub means sacrificing the charging ports. While USB-C hub draws power from the computer’s current to power peripheral devices, the battery consumption rate could be faster than usual. Therefore, you may need to look for a USB-C hub with PD charging port.
